About Willem Blees

Willem’s vast knowledge of pianos comes from being a Registered Piano Technician (RPT), with the Piano Technicians Guild (PTG). Since becoming an RPT in 1978, Willem has attended more than 55 seminars and technical institutes, not only as a scholar, but also as instructor. He is in constant demand across the United States and Canada teaching on topics ranging from basic tuning and regulating to voicing and rebuilding.

Willem Blees is the author of a book about his love for his business: The Business of Piano Tuning: A Guide to Marketing, Managing, Promoting, Buying and Selling a Piano Service Business. Willem’s book is the only one of its kind.

Willem has a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Northern Illinois University and a Masters Degree in Music from the University of Illinois. He continues to participate in music by singing with the Oahu Choral Society, with his wife, Janet
